The Magic of Setting Goals for Your MLM and Network Marketing Business

Your MLM and network marketing business can be like an unmanned ship on open water – just drifting along until it sinks or accidentally runs aground somewhere. This happens a lot. Without specific goals and objectives for your business, you’re really just moving in an unknown direction and are unlikely to build the kind of business you actually want.

It isn’t sufficient to say “my goal with my network marketing business is to make enough money to quit my job”. This is a meaningful goal in general, but not specific enough.

It’s much better to say “my goal with my network marketing business is to earn $5,000 per month so I can quit my regular job”. You can then break this down into time frames and create a 2-5 year plan for earning the income you need each month to leave the job.

A lot is said and written about setting goals. For those of us building a home based network marketing business, it’s especially important to know where we’re going and why we want to get there. Otherwise, the many distractions of everyday life will take us off course and we will be in danger of losing our focus.

Remember, our business is not something we are forced to do. We don’t have to get up every day and work on it – it’s a voluntary effort. We must have strong internal motivation and specific goals to keep everything moving along.
