Warm Market Notification Without Pain
February 6, 2009
For many who start network marketing and MLM businesses, the first thing their upline recommends is “make a list of 200 friends and relatives” and contact them about your business.
The idea is that these people, in theory, will be open to hear your presentation because they know you. You aren’t a stranger to them.
A number of things can complicate this process. If you’ve been in different network marketing businesses before, and have contacted some of these same people in the past, there might be some credibility issues. Sometime there are other issues that make it difficult to do the much talked about “belly to belly” approach.
Whatever your circumstances, it’s okay to approach your warm market if you want to! There are other ways to do this that can actually be more effective than trying to schedule in-person presentations and such as that. Some people can do very well by calling their “warm market list” and setting up presentations. However, realistically, others can have better success using a different method of “warm market notification”.
Here are a couple of ideas. Use your imagination here.
Make an effort to get the email addresses of your warm market list if you don’t already have them. Drop them a simple note announcing your association with your company, and include a link to your web site for more information. Tell your story about why you got into the business, if you want. Then leave it at that.
You can also put together small packets with information and samples if you like, and postal mail those to your warm market.
Using either approach, you are letting them know what’s up and giving them a way to learn more at their leisure. No pressure on them to tell you “yes or no” in person. This can be awkward between friends and relatives.
Try one of these methods for approaching your warm market. Meantime, focus on building your business by attracting people who are looking for a home business opportunity. Your warm market will come around when the time is right.
