Finding Keywords to Advertise Your Network Marketing Business Online
January 27, 2009
If you have a website set up for your network marketing business or products, you’ll want to advertise and drive traffic to it. Whether you use pay per click advertising, or shoot for free search engine listings, it’s important to find and use the right keywords.
Coming up with the right keywords is critical to your success, because these are the words that people type into the search engines to find offers and opportunities like yours.
If you choose the wrong words, you may get some traffic but it will most likely be tire kickers and uninterested searchers looking for something else. The key is to narrow down the possibilities and find what words people are typing in to search engines to find sites like yours (home business, make money from home, etc).
At first, it appears easy to come up with keywords. After all, it seems logical that people are searching for “network marketing”, “MLM”, “home business”, and perhaps the name of your flagship product. While this is true, you’ll miss out on a lot of good traffic if you neglect to dig deeper and find the lesser known terms that people are searching on.
I’ve tried a number of services as well as different desktop software packages designed to find great keywords. The higher rated software and online services will all do a decent job for you. Which one to use comes down mostly to cost, convenience, and ease of use.
To start out, I recommend that you try Wordtracker. This is an online service that has been around longer than most, and has a huge database that provides very accurate results.
What I really like about Wordtracker, though, is the way they hold your hand and guide you step-by-step through the research. I have used services that were very good, but poor on documentation and help. Wordtracker is a great choice if you are new to keyword research, and not sure what you need to do.
Wordtracker’s free trial gives you full access to the service for seven days, along with a series of excellent video tutorials to get you started.
I’m recommending Wordtracker because I believe it’s the best place to start when looking for keywords to promote and advertise your network marketing home business. It’s user friendly and excellent for beginners and pros alike.
